So I was at Alan's seeing off Gabe last night... oooh that was much fun!

I got to hang out with some very cool people who I'd not had a chance to get to know before. I mean, yes, I can go to Dominion and see these people, but at the same time it's not exactly as if you can wander in and have a deep meaningful discussion.

I'm going to jump to very much later in the story, because I want to say this before I forget it. The road that Alan lives on is also the road that my grandmother's old house is on. I think my granmother's house is a wee bit bigger, but not much. Later on in the night, when I was drunk and going up the stairs to the loo, I noticed the wall at the side of the bedroom was missing. So I could stand on the stairs and see a stripped bedroom. The funny thing was, I could just look and see my grand-aunt's room, a room I'd slept over in so many times. It was an incredibly weird experience. Yes I was inebriated in many ways at the time, but I'm not sure what I felt. It was partly nostalgia, partly a hollowness. It's difficult to explain.

Anyway, the party itself was much fun. I bought some local plonk from the local Spar and brought it along. It was nice to have some fun with people I'd not really had much to do with over the last few years. It was good to talk to people. And msuic was shared. I got my hands on some band called R.A.M which I've never heard of before, but I think they're actually rather good. The beat is strong, the synth is unapologetically synthy, the vocals are good - what more do you want from a gothy EBM band?

Overall, I'd forgotten what good company these people can be... even the ones I'd not met before. Sometimes people can just amaze you.

I wandered home at an ungodly hour. Ungodly when you need to be up by 6:30 anyway. So it was about 1:00. I paid for it today. Didn't get hungover, just extremely tired.
