A friend (or rather, a friend's wife) decided it was really important to share some bilious post about Caitlyn Jenner. Personally, I've got no great love for Ms Jenner, but the post was about her being trans and the general transphobic bullshit.

I had the tools to tear the argument apart, and just leave it in pieces on the ground.

Instead, it just seemed simpler to basically say how I'd caught shit for being trans before, and that I don't count people who share such bile as a friend, and that I was out.

I went with the simpler option.

I'm sorry that happened to you.

I think, also, there's a strong argument that the simpler option is the better option. People don't hold irrational transphobic arguments because of logic, it's because they're haters who think they can get away with it. Giving this person a social consequence for their bad action doesn't dignify their stupidity. Haters care more about group approval than sound arguments. Also: self care. Again, I'm sorry you have to deal with this shit.
