And the rumour-mill continues.
Of course, it's in the interests of Intel's CEO to say that IBM would buy us, and that they'd phase out Solaris and the SPARC line - that situation creates more room Intel in the high-end server market. If IBM do an Intel server line, it's good for them. If we continue on, we do an Intel server line, it's also good for them, but not as much so (what with being split between AMD, Intel and SPARC) and would still have a competitor in them market - especially when Sun's hot product is shipping with AMD chips.
In other words, he really doesn't have as impartial a view as he might want us to believe.
Again, we'll see how it goes.
