It's weird being in work at this hour. Ok, I have absolutely no obligation to do so, but I've got these two very rare machines until tomorrow, and I really want to make this testsuite work.
I was going to go hours ago but Sod's Law kicked in. Ever work on something expecting it to fail, and then find that zOMGz, laik no wai (sorry, for that outburst of bad spelling, somehow it just seemed appropriate) it did actually do what it said on the tin? Bear in mind, I was working on it to verify that it was, in fact, dead as a doornail and that it should go back to the developers. No such luck. When I was running the tests again for good measure, it actually decided to work. What a kick in the teeth, eh?
Anyway, I'm sitting here, thinking I know the trick to getting it running, so I'm waiting for some fresh rare systems to do their thing and get ready. Once I actually believe I have the trick to getting this running, I'll be happy. If not, I'll leave this in work. It can wait til tomorrow.
I guess this is a hazard of the job - sometimes I actually think that it would be a good idea for something to do its job properly in work, rather than just go home and leave it in the office - actually caring.
So, I'll probably be leaving the office at 9. But I'll take it easy hours-wise at some other point.
