And slowly my workmates learn... |

In work, we're changing one of the tools we use in our day-to-day duties - we've started using a tool called Mercurial. Now, in our team we work quite closely with a group in Prague, and they were the ones in charge of moving across to his new tool. I was their guinea pig - the first one from our team to learn how to use it, and I was also testing out his documentation for how to use it.
So, we were chatting online in a private IRC channel (chatroom) for the two teams, and the guy in Prague was ready for the final phase; for various reasons, this last bit is called the "push".
*(For the purposes of this log, I'm changing the names)* Loogie: Aoife, whenever you're ready, I think we're good to push today. Me: Cool so. Do you want me to push now? Loogie: Hang on. Just one sec. Me: I feel like we're giving birth to a Mercurial baby? Me: "Don't push yet. Don't push yet. Now! Push! I can see the head!" Loogie: Ooooh... Tentacles.
Yes, I kid you not. I love those crazy Prague guys! And yes, it's all just because they said tentacles. But that's not the best bit. I heard some laughing from the next cubicle from Luc, and then he just shouted over the cubicle, "What the f**k's wrong with you?". Me: "I dunno. I just get these... ideas, sometimes." Luc: "That's just weird."
After my little discovery yesterday, it cheered me right up. |
