I graduate today.|
I'm not particularly excited about this. My mum is - probably because this has been a long time in the making - ideally, it would have happened 4 years ago. At any rate, I'll be in a gown and possibly trying to stab some of my old lecturers, like Tahar.
I like wearing gowns, they make me feel all magisterial (possibly because I wear a master's gown)
Thanks. Strangely enough, it was. It turned out to be pretty good. I didn't get excited or anything until I got home, and it was done. I think it was a release thing; you know, it was over, so I could let it all out then.
I wonder how big a weapon can be concealed under a gown.
This is vaguely depressing though, I should have been graduating today :(
Well, it's almost as good as a trenchcoat - so shotguns are disturbingly easy. Only thing is, it seems Tahar kept a very wide berth - there again, you've probably heard the shit that's going on about him and the postgrads and the demonstratorships. :) It's not a good idea to mention much about it on here, but do ask some postgrads that you used to be in 3rd year with... they'll happily tell you :)
I actually hadn't heard, I'm a little out of the loop unfortunately! I shan't press any further here.

I hope you remembered to bring in a book or a crossword with you. I didn't want to go to my dip grad but my mother wanted to go to it (jeez what is it about mums and graduation ceremonies)
I shoulda thought of that one. I remember folks mentioning they were gonna bring their DS, but that never happened. I could imagine the cursing from us as we played mario kart - I somehow doubt it would go down well, unless people thought we were hurling abuse at Hugh Brady. Sure, I wouldn't get a degree, but that would be interesting. :)
Congratulations :D Did they have the teeny sausage rolls? They're nice. And they're the reason my mother insisted on going to my graduation. "Finger food?! I'm there!"
They didn't, although I suspect the reason has less to do with them not liking us as much as your year, but more to do with the current situation with Irish pork. :)
Vell Dan, at long long last :) You do realise that you have been a student for longer than I've known you? :)
