Remember I mentioned that last week I started another mead batch. Well it was bubbling along really nicely, so I decided to have a look at how much sugar it had gotten through. It seems that it's gone from 1.092 to 1.041 - back of a yeast packet calculations put this at about 5% (plus change). Tasting the last one at that stage was vile, but this one was really quite nice. It was naturally carbonated and was quite light and sweet without being cloyingly so, and deceptively alcoholic (really, it didn't taste alcoholic). I have to say, I could quite drink it as is (and, strangely, didn't taste winey or have any immature flavours in there). In fact, I have half a plan to do a run like this some time in the summer - it'd be a great drink during a nice hot day if served chilled. I'm rather proud of this batch.

And yes, I logged in from work to tell you all this. :) In other news, I'd quite like to stab many cyclists in the city, but that's not really news.
