More on the baby [Sep. 25th, 2008|12:29 am]

After my fretful post last night, I wandered by the baby to find it gurgling away happily. That's ok, it means it's alive and kicking. When I woke up, I gave it a quick, vigorous shake to burb it, shifting excess gasses, and left it be. It's going to be like that for a while.

Anywho, I took some pictures. I'll save you all the hassle by putting them under cuts.

It doesn't look like much now, but if the yeasties do their work, that liquid will be nicely golden at some point in the future.

The empty nest

If you're wondering why there's even a nest in the first place, the thing is that it's not unknown for these things to occasionally get excited, overflow and leak all over the floor. So I put it in a wine box. Then I realised that some newspaper around it could make for a tiny bit of insulation, to help buffer it a little bit. So that's why there's a nest.

Especially for nanocreturns
I don't think there's a picture of me in existence that doesn't make me look deficient in some way

That's right, it's a water-trap, and has been there from the start. I just thought I'd point that out.

You know, in a way, it's sort of the baby's mouth; it gurgles at me through that, and that's how I know it's happy.

Anthropomorphising is fun!

Yeah, after going Louise Woodward on it every day for about a month, just to get everything really flowing.
