Not that I'm sure why I'd want to, but it appears that I can install Leopard on my home PC - all I did was search for my motherboard and efi, and apparently people got it running on my motherboard.
(i.e. the above is not me saying that I dislike Mac OS X - I just don't think I want to preen another O/S, especially with getting all the EFI disk labels set up and everything)
Edit - turns out I can't after all. It turns out that early versions of the firmware allowed the ich9 controller to address the disks in a certain way, but <redneck>it gone dunt allow that no more <sad redneck /></redneck>. In other words, I'm using a nerfed motherboard that can't do it.
In that case, at least it means I'm not tempted to do it.
