This is where the year out bites me on the ass.
I remember talking with people going into 4th year compsci last year. I think it was around this time last year that they had to start thinking about what cool and interesting final year projects they had to do. I also remember the horror stories of what happened to people who just found themselves in college without checking their college email, and therefore ending up with roughly one or two days to review and choose them before having to commit.
Here's the kicker, because I was on a year out, my college email is locked from me. Technically I've been a student from Aug 1, but that doesn't mean I have freaking email yet. Therefore, I'm being put at a disadvantage because I can't get relevant emails about something that counts for rather large chunk of my course!
I'm less than impressed.
There again, it's UCD... moreover, it's IT services in UCD.
Anyway, I'm going to ring the SCSI (School of Computer Science and Informatics for those that don't know) and see if they can get me up to speed on this... because if not, I'm going to be making noise. I don't know how, but I'll be making noise.
