Rules for Game Bosses. [May. 21st, 2007|02:49 am]

So there are lists like rules for evil overlords, like making sure your key facilities are manned only by a skeleton crew, and making sure that your cells have a convenient but slightly obscure method for escape.

So, what about "Boss" enemies of computer games? Are there any lists of qualities that must be had by a boss? If not, I think one should be compiled.

So any ideas?

1) Must have a ridiculous laugh
2) Must be at least eight times the actual size of the hero
3) Must repeat the same attacks over and over in a highly complicated sequence that it takes forever to get a hold of; at first looking like the hero will never win but later realising that if you stick to his rhythms you can win, because we all know Evil has no rhythm.
4) Must have stupid name (Bowser, Ganon etc)

Must leave the methods for being killed within easier reach of your room in the lair

Must be vunerable to at least one of the elements.

Must have kidnapped or killed the heros brother/father/ favorite pet
