One of the best conversations I've had on KoL chat:
private to Foicite: Although I do want to start a petition to get an Iambic Pentametre Dungeon
Foicite (private): That would be tricky.
private to Foicite:Yeah, Iambic Pentametre isn't quite as common as haikus or limericks
Foicite (private): Or easy.
private to Foicite: it depends... it's quite conversational, especially in english.
Foicite (private): I guess... it could be, yes.
private to Foicite: most of Shakespeare's plays involve it at some point
private to Foicite: By the looks of it, it seemed just like a game to him, just to see if he could do it.
Foicite (private): Indeed.
Foicite (private): Well, Shakespeare existed a long time before video games. What else was he going to do?
private to Foicite: Well, if he'd known about the Japanese, he might have written some of his stuff in haikus
Foicite (private): That would've been interesting.
private to Foicite: I don't think anyone would have taken him seriously if it he went for Limericks :)
private to Foicite: true. Although Hamlet in Limerick form would be interesting.
private to Foicite: The famous speech about the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune would sound very different
Foicite (private): My outrageous fortune blows. / To suffer slings and arrows. / It takes but one knife / to finish my life. / Tis it nobler? No one knows.
private to Foicite: My hat goes off to you!
Foicite (private): I kinda wish I could've come up with something better than "blows", though.
So much fun.
