YAY!

I got my Formal Syntax project working! Now all I have to do is type up the documentation for it!

Basically it's a Java emulation of Deterministic Finite State Automaton... well any DFA that you can provide a textual description of... It's a fairly tight file spec too (which makes my life easier), first line is the number of states, the next is the set of final states and the next is the alphabet and then the transitions in all the other lines.

And I may be a bit unusual insofar that I've gotten it set up so that it'll use any frickin' character that Java can handle with a file reader. So if you want to drive your input with tabs and spaces, you can. I'm rather proud of that.

And it worked very well the first time I ran it. I just needed to remember to reset the bloody thing.

So yeah, in my humble opinion I think it's worked quite well. :)
